Description

The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay celebrates the beautiful region from Asheville, NC to Greenville, SC. It is a 75-mile team running event traveling from the peaks to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, through local craft breweries, and into quaint southern towns. 

The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay will be held April 18, 2020. The first flight of 6-member teams will start the relay around 5:00 am. Over the next few hours, additional teams will depart on their journey through the Carolinas. Each team will consist of three to six runners who will split 12 legs ranging from 3-9 miles (ultra teams will consist of three runners). Each team will provide their own race vehicle to drop off and pick up runners at designated transition areas along the course route. Ville to Ville teams will arrive in Greenville, SC between 3:00-8:00 pm that afternoon for a finish line celebration which will include music, food, and of course, craft brews.

 

PACKET PICKUP/WELCOME RECEPTION

Thursday, April 16 – Yee-Haw Brewing Company - 307 E McBee Ave, Greenville, SC 29601 - 5-8pm

Friday, April 17 – Highland Brewing Company – 12 Old Charlotte Hwy, Asheville, NC 28803 – 3-8pm

All participants must come to one of the welcome receptions and show your ID at check-in. If you are unable to attend either event, you can pick up your packet on Saturday morning at the starting line. Please allow extra time (45 minutes before your start) if you are checking in on Saturday morning.

 

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

The first flight of 6-member teams will start the relay at 5:00 am. Over the next few hours, additional teams will depart every 15-20 minutes on their journey through the Carolinas. Each team will consist of three to six runners who will split 12 legs ranging from 3-9 miles (ultra teams will consist of three runners). Each team will provide their own race vehicle to drop off and pick up runners at designated transition areas along the course route. Ville to Ville teams will arrive in Greenville, SC between 3:00-8:00 pm that afternoon for a finish line celebration which will include music, food, and of course, local craft brews.

TEAM VOLUNTEERS

If anyone on your team lives within 100 miles of Asheville, NC or Greenville, SC, you are required to provide one race-day volunteer or pay the $100 volunteer fee. Please visit our VOLUNTEER PAGE to find out more.

 

TEAM PAYMENTS

If you paid a deposit during your initial registration, the remainder of your team fee ($450) is due by January 15, 2020, at midnight.  Teams with unpaid fees on January 16, 2020, will lose their spot in the race and their non-refundable deposit. Team rosters should be finalized by February 18, 2020. There is a 5.5% processing fee on all online payments.

 

AGE & ID REQUIREMENTS

All runners must be 21 years old or older to participate in the Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay and proper identification will be required during packet pick-up to verify age.

 

TEAM NAME

Be creative, but keep it classy. Your team name will appear in lots of public places, so make sure it is one that would make your mother proud. You will submit your team name during registration, but it can be changed until February 18, 2020.

 

TEAM CATEGORIES

Ultra Male (3 runners, 1-3 males)
Ultra Female (3 runners, all female)
Open Co-ed (minimum of 2 females)
Open Male ( all male team or all males plus 1 female)
Open Female (all females)
Masters Male (all male team or all males plus 1 female, all members 40+)
Masters Female (all females, all members 40+)
Masters Co-ed (minimum of 2 females, all members 40+)

 

TEAM CAPTAIN

Each team will have a team captain (we will initially use the name and contact info of the person registering.) We will provide regular race information and updates for the team captain on our Captain Resources page and through monthly email newsletters.

 

TEAM PACE

In order to make it to the post-race party in one day, it is mandatory to have a team pace of 10:30 minutes per mile or less.  This doesn’t mean that everyone on the team has to run at this pace, but it does mean that if you have slower team members, you will need faster team members to keep your team on track.

You will estimate a team pace when you register your team with an average min/mile pace for all runners on the entire course.  For a 6-person team, each runner will run twice between 3-9 miles, so a 10K time average would be expected. Final team pace estimates will be due on February 18, 2020.

 

CANCELLATION / WEATHER

This is a rain or shine event. The race director has the right to change the course or change the event in case of inclement weather.  More details on our weather policy can be found in our GUIDEBOOK.
